The following are some of the functions of the "Calculations" framework:
- Product cost calculation
- Determination of an item’s manufacturing costs (total production cost)
- Based on the production master data: bills of material, routings, production processes, and similar
- Cost distribution for co-products and by-products
- Input includes configuration characteristics from a configuration linked via the cost unit, based on product configuration rules
- Basis for cost determination
- Cost centers with time-dependent cost unit rates for each service type
- For each service type, up to five different cost unit rates may be used (three freely definable plus budget and actual costs)
- Operation line items are linked with service types
- Resources are linked with cost centers
- Valuation prices for materials: five billing prices, inventory count price, and the calculated average price
- Preliminary calculation also based on orders or quotes
- Production order calculation
- Final calculation
- Calculation cockpit
- Calculation results for complex analyses and evaluations available
- Trade cost calculations
- Simulation of prices
- Determination of sales prices based on purchase prices or
- Determination of purchase prices based on sales prices
- Calculations may be
- direct for one item
- for all items, or
- for instance, via an item classification for item assortments
- Freely definable calculation schemas as the foundation for all cost calculations
- Calculation rules may be defined for many different industries
- Powerful formulas facilitate indepth calculations within the calculation schemas
- Variant and alternative calculations
- For product cost calculations
- Setting the valuation price and the cost unit rate to apply
- Calculation results or interim results can, if desired, be entered automatically into the valuation price determination for the item being calculated
- For a configuration based on product configuration rules, the individual sales price and cost of goods can be calculated and entered automatically into the sales order or sales quotation line item
- For trade cost calculations: Via variables, additional information is available, such as the minimum net margin to be achieved, procurement costs, or cash discount rates
- Calculation comparisons
